There are many special offerings from Huelva. But two of the many include Matalascañas and Doñana National Park.

Matalascañas

Matalascañas is part of Almonte municipality at its southeast. It offers miles of tranquil beaches on its west and east with rich flora at theDoñana National Park. One of its main attractions is the “El Rocio” which isa famous pilgrimage spot. Thousands of pilgrims participate in this pilgrimage route every year.

Discovering The Allure Of Granada, Spain


Granada is famous for its high quality caviar which is a prized delicacy in the province. They are produced in the exceptionally clean waters of Riofrio which is a town in the western side of Granada. The caviar is harvested from the sturgeon that is abundant in the area. Granada has the largest population of captive sturgeon in the area which numbers at 400,000. The Salzillo Museum in Murcia, Spain

Murcia is the capital of the province of Murcia in the south east portion of Spain. It is located right next to the Mediterranean Sea. Murcia has pristine beaches, beautiful coastlines, mountains hills and even a river. The region is also known for its farmlands that produce lemons, limes, fruits and vegetables.

Santiago de Compostela Travel Guide

Santiago de Compostela is the capital of the autonomous region of Galicia in Spain. It is also a famous heritage site. In 1998, it was hailed as the city of culture in Europe. During the Napoleonic War, Santiago was captured by France.

The Feast Of San Isidro In Madrid, Spain

A lot of exciting activities happen during the month of May in Madrid. This is because the feast of San Isidro takes place during this month. San Isidro is the patron saint of Madrid. The entire month of May is filled with fiestas in various parts of Madrid. The common celebrations that take place are dances and concerts held in the open air. The Plaza Mayor is a very popular venue for these outdoor celebrations. The plaza is filled with locals that are dressed in the traditional attire of Madrid. They dance the chotis where the women dance slowly and gracefully around the men who dance in place. It is a very exciting dance to watch as the men and women dance in a very courtly manner.

During these festival dances the women wear frilly dresses that show off their curves and on their heads they wear headscarves. The men wear jackets that are black and white in color that they pair with waistcoats. The men also wear caps and white neckerchiefs to these dances. This traditional attire of the locals is called chulapos. Aside from the dancing, the food is also a major part of the celebration of the feast of San Isidro in Madrid. During the festival, the Plaza Mayor is lined with barquilleros or organ grinders that sell sweet treats while proudly wearing their traditional San Isidro attire.

The barquilleros sell sweet wafer treats called angel’s bread or barquillos. They are sold plain or dipped in delicious chocolate. The barquillos symbolize San Isidro who has always been known to be a very generous man for always handing out food to the hungry and less fortunate. This sweet treat has been a part of the San Isidro festival for a long time. Concerts are also a part of the celebration of the feast of San Isidro and they are often held at the big park that is located near the city center. The concert has a rock theme and attracts a large audience every year. The park has a smaller venue called the Las Vistillas,spain villas  which is located beside the Palacio Real. This part of the park also hosts concerts every night during the festival.

During the feast of San Isidro, the basilica de San Isidro receives a large number of visitors. Tourists as well as locals from Madrid visit the basilica to pay their respects to the remains of both San Isidro and Santa Maria dela Cabeza, his wife. The basilica was built in the 17th century by Francisco Bautista. The design of the church is Baroque style and has twin towers. The designer of the church is Pedro Sanchez who patterned it after the Gesu of Rome.

Tourist Information About San Sebastian - Spain

San Sebastian is a Spanish city that is also referred to as Donostia in Basque. This beautiful city sits right along a spectacular bay of Bahia de La Concha which is lined with majestic beaches with powdery white sand. San Sebastian also sits between 2 hills called Urgull and Igueldo. Tourists are attracted by the perfect combination of both the scenery of the sea and the hills in San Sebastian.

San Sebastian is indeed very beautiful and because of its beauty, in the 19th century Queen Maria Cristina chose it to be her place of residence during the summer months. As a result of this, more and more tourists especially celebrities and other famous people chose to spend their holidays in San Sebastian. In 1887 a luxury Casino was built and the city became a luxury holiday destination. In the following years, more holiday villas and palaces were built in the city. By 1914, San Sebastian was considered to be one of the most modern cities in Europe. A lot of famous personalities visited the city in those years.

San Sebastian is known for its beautiful buildings in the Belle Époque style and most of them are found right in the heart of the city specifically along the Area Romantica just beside the river. Another great place to visit in San Sebastian is the Palacio de Miramar. The palace gardens of the Royal Palace have been opened to the public and you can get a magnificent view of the bay beyond. Another place with a great view is the leisure park in Monte Igueldo up in the hills.

A holiday in San Sebastian is mostly focused on its beautiful beaches and the most beautiful and famous of them all is the Playa de la Concha. It is located near the Palacio de Miramar and is built with a balustrade and two watches that both give the place a very exclusive and elegant ambience. On the same beach are other notable structures such as the La Perla health resort and the Real Club Nautico or the Royal Nautical Club.

The Many Wonders Of Mijas, Spain

Mijas is a beautiful municipality in the Malaga province. It is separated into two different areas. The village or the pueblo is where you can see traditional Andalucian structures that are whitewashed as well as charming cobbled streets. Mijas is located on the side of the mountain and right above the Mediterranean Sea. There are small trails that are great for hiking and donkey rides. You will see fresh water seeping out from the rocks on the side of the mountain. There are also lots of local shops that sell various arts and crafts items made of wicker as well as other souvenir items. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from if you want to sample the local cuisine.

They also serve dishes from other parts of Spain and the rest of Europe. The seaside restaurants serve the freshest seafood cooked to perfection. You will find freshly baked breads and other cakes in the local cafes and bakeries in Mijas. Mijas Pueblo is the site of the Carramoto de Max museum that houses a huge collection of microscopic art pieces. In this unique museum you will see the microscopic portrait of Abraham Lincoln on a tiny pinhead. The Plaza de Toros is also a famous tourist attraction in Mijas Pueblo. It is a bull ring that also houses a wide collection of antique memorabilia.
